Peter Beus is a Slovenian academic painter of Bosnian origins. He was born in 1939 in Mostar (Bosnia and Herzegovina). He studied painting at the School of Applied Arts. He continued his studies at Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana with professors Pregelj, Mihelič and Stupica, with whom he graduated. Beus originated from the Herzegovinian cultural space but was fully educated in Slovenia. Beus' themes are primarily women, portraits and still life. Abstract art never attracted him. He lives and works in Ljubljana, where he is engaged in painting, drawing and graphics.
