The Arabic calligraphy is the artistic practice of handwriting, also called as the art of beautiful writing. It has both aesthetic and functional purposes. In the cooperation with a well-known Egypt-nationality artist and professional calligrapher Khalifa El Shimy from Sharjah (UAE), Ars Studio Avsenik team developed a unique and innovative online e-learning program for Arabic calligraphy, called eCalligraphy.

eCalligraphy’s aim is to enable learning calligraphy to everyone and to keep the preservation of this cultural heritage. The plan for the e-learning program is to lead a user through all 6 different styles of Arabic calligraphy. The first style announced within our program is a Thuluth script, which is known as the origin of all calligraphy styles.

All letters in different forms, examples, proportions and strokes where hand-written by the callig-rapher Khalifa El Shimy, who has several ejaza in Arabic calligraphy from Mr. Hasan Shalabi and Mr. Fouad Bashar in Thuluth, Naskh, Dewani, Riqaa and Jalli Dewani.

eCalligraphy has been presented in and introduced to the public and media as the innovative online e-learning program for Arabic calligraphy on different occasions, to name a few: at the exhibition “The Echo Of The Words II” held in DUCTAC's Gallery Of Light in October 2012 in Dubai (UAE), at the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair in May 2013 in Abu Dhabi (UAE), at the Sharjah International Book Fair in November 2013 in Sharjah (UAE) and at the Doha International Book Fair in December 2013 in Doha (Qatar).
